Clean Artlantis hidden preferences files

Issue detected: You cannot launch Artlantis or often experience slowdowns or crashes.

Cause of the problem: Some hidden preferences files belonging to Artlantis became corrupted and can cause unexpected issues in running Artlantis 

What to do:  You’ll need to delete them and let them be recreated correctly. Follow these steps :


On MAC :

1/

    - In the Finder menu, chose: Go and Go to folder…



  •   Write  /private   and click on Go



  • On the path: Macintosh HD/private/var/tmp/Abvent_501: delete the entire folder Abvent_501


2/

In the Finder menu, choose Go and Library.

Hold down the alt or option key on your keyboard to make appear the Library menu and click on it.


      

Delete the ArtlantisX folder on this path:

Macintosh HD/Users/<user>/Library/Application Support/Abvent/ArtlantisX

You may find several folders with the name Artlantis. Each version installed on your computer has a separate folder, so the X, in this case, means the version number. 



      


3/

  Delete the files:  com.Abvent................ .plist on this path :

Macintosh HD/Users/<user>/Library/Preferences/com.abvent... .plist


 


4/

Delete the file:  AtlMediaDB.db on this path :

Macintosh HD/Users/Shared/Abvent/Artlantis/Media/AtlMediaDB.db

  

When finished, empty your trash can and restart your computer. 



On WINDOWS :


(It is possible that some files you are suggested to clean are not visible immediately. The Windows system allows us to set them visible; please follow this article. )

   Delete the folder called Abvent on this path: C:/Users/<user>/AppData/Local/Temp/Abvent

      


2/

  Delete the folder called ArtlantisX on this path: C:/Users/<user>/AppData/Roaming/Abvent/ArtlantisX

(You may find several folders with the name Artlantis. Each version installed on your computer has a separate folder, so the X, in this case, means the version number. )


    


3/

 Delete the file called  AtlMediaDB.db on this path:

C:/Users/Public/Documents publics/Abvent/Artlantis/Media/AtlMediaDB.db


   


4/

Open the Registry Editor of your operating system: 

In the search box on the taskbar, type regedit, then select Registry Editor (Desktop app) from the results.


Delete the following folder  ArtlantisX on this path : HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/Abvent/ArtlantisX

   

 

    

  


When finished, empty your trashcan and restart your computer.
